CIAA comments on the European Commission’s comprehensive proposal for the WTO agriculture negotiations

CIAA has read with interest the Commission's comprehensive proposal for the WTO agriculture negotiations, released first on 16th December 2002 and subsequently supported by the Council on 27th January 2003. CIAA welcomes the fact that the EC has presented a comprehensive proposal at the WTO.



In general, CIAA considers that the text makes a positive contribution to the negotiation process by suggesting detailed reduction commitments, making proposals to improve rules and disciplines on a number of instruments and providing special and differential treatment for developing countries.
